48. Having the right people around us, with Rhys Bower

Tired of the traditional way of doing things, lawyers Rhys Bower and business partner Nick Wood decided to break the status quo and create a legal firm they are proud to be at the helm of.

This conversation is a great mix of pro-tips and real-life stories, where Rhys and I chat about the importance of creating a business we love, that aligns with what’s important and fits into our family life.

Rhys also talks about how building networks with the right people can be incredibly valuable no matter where on the business journey we are and shares some practical information on what legal professionals can do to support small business.

Rhys’s legal career has been a varied one.  He represented the federal and state governments while working as a lawyer for top tier firm Clayton Utz; lectured in law at the Australian National University; ran a youth focused community legal centre; was an editor of the Federal Law Review and has been published in a legal academic journal.

He and his young family, then moved to regional NSW where he has been practising as a solicitor since 2012.
